10 tips for successful permanent hair removal
Here are a few tips before you start:
■ I check that my skin is compatible
Pulsed light hair removal is not suitable for people with dark skin because of the high concentration of melanin in their skin.
■ I choose the best time
In winter, the skin is normally no longer tanned and therefore no longer pigmented and you are unlikely to expose yourself to the sun. This increases the power of the light for a faster destruction of the hair!
■ I prepare my skin for hair removal
It's the last straw, but before a permanent hair removal session, you have to... shave! The day before the session, we do a final shave for even more efficiency!
■ I avoid certain areas
To make the session as pleasant as possible, don't forget to protect/contour your moles, tattoos, scars, freckles and birthmarks with a white tablet.
■ I follow the instructions to the letter
Follow the steps in our guide to safe and effective epilation carefully, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about using the Ohmyskin epilator.
■ I flash the right way!
Move forward gradually so that all parts of the area are treated and make sure you never flash the same area twice!
■ I take care of my skin after the session
Has your skin turned red? To refresh the depilated areas, you can apply aloe vera gel that has been left to cool in the fridge.
■ I plan my sessions
To achieve optimal permanent hair removal, you must be regular and respect the rhythm of your sessions. We advise to do one session per week (per area) until the desired result is achieved (generally 8-12 sessions)!
Carrying out more than one session per week for a given area will not accelerate the appearance of results and may even be counterproductive!
■ I remain patient...
Hairs do not fall out directly during your waxing sessions. It may take a few days to fall out, which is perfectly normal. You can shave between sessions if you wish, but avoid waxing and electric epilators.
■ And I'm persevering!
In order for you to be able to use it safely, the power of our epilator is weaker than the devices in institutes, so the result is a little longer than in an institute. We sometimes speak of semi-definitive epilation.
Indeed, hair can grow back over time, especially at times when hormones are upset (during pregnancy for example), hence the long life of the device to maintain your perfect hair removal!
Intense Pulsed Light technology brings you a real loss of hair, however these results will be somewhat slow. The risk of burning, cutting or scratching is almost non-existent, as this method has been clinically and dermatologically tested.
Unlike other hair removal methods, Ohmyskin's IPL technology guarantees long-lasting results at an affordable price. Don't hesitate to choose IPL!
